Hype Machine has been following music conversations since 2005. Each week, Stack is a snapshot of what’s happening in music now, from our hearts to your inbox.

A note from the editor:

500 editions in and, honestly, I still love Stacking. Five songs each week, selected from hundreds; it's been an exercise in consumption and curation, done primarily using my own Feed, composed from various desks, couches, airplanes, and trains since 2014. I’ve tried to highlight a range of music, something interesting from each loosely defined sonic bin, alongside an album, a mix, and a piece of writing that struck us that week. The process reminds me that people are still doing so much great work in finding and writing about new music, and that Hype Machine remains so useful as a simple resource to sift through the infinite. As a fan, above all, every week I am reminded that there is real joy in discovery. I hope that it's brought you some as well.

You may have noticed Hype Machine runs lean these days. Anthony, Zoya, and I do our best to maintain it and keep it up through our second decade on the web. In this spirit of leanness, Stack concludes today at 500. It may come back in another form, maybe as a standalone newsletter, and if you’d like to be the first to know about that, feel free to write us back or leave your email here.

Thank you for listening with us.

From our hearts to your inbox,
Dave
